So that was why I tried expanding with a range. The ranch on the left is my default drecko ranch, and it works fine alone, except the numbers are low. Gases are fine, but the dreckos got too long commutes, so it took an eternity to get all of them groomed. Categories Community content is available under CC-BY-SA unless otherwise noted. Attributes can change over time by performing certain jobs. it also keeps the gases in and at good pressure and makes sure they don't exhale any pesky CO2 while inside the ranch. Attributes Sign in to edit Each Duplicant comes with individual attributes that affect his job performance and vitals. They can't get past the water lock and suits so the dupes can stay in the hydrogen and get through the lock without becoming debuffed. I tried it like this for dreckos but wasn't too happy with it. Make them go in some other way where you can have a little chlorine and things for disinfecting. Grooming a wild critter for two consecutive days will make it tame. Just don't make it an exit to the base so the dupes use it. Critters (save for Pacus) are tamed by grooming them at a Grooming Station. But the principle is sound if you do it right. This approach is a little harder with flying critters and dreckos, since they are quite good escape artists. And enough hatches to fully power the base with coal and still have a growing store. Grooming can be a bit of an issue, but I had four ranchers working non stop on them here, so most of them had no debuffs every time they walked out on the balcony. The refined version of any Metal Ore has slightly better properties compared to its unrefined version. Every type of Metal Ore in game has a corresponding refined version of itself. It was introduced in the Automation Upgrade. All the ones on the right are very unhappy in the overcrowded ranch, but all the ones on the left are perfectly happy and keep breeding. Refined Metal is one of the types of Resources in the game Oxygen Not Included. But there's no real limit as long as you can feed them. Ethanol Distiller can produce Ethanol from Lumber. 1.2 kg/s Lumber 300 W Power + 170 g/s Carbon Dioxide. ![]() It is used to make items such as: Sauna Hot Tub Wood Burner can burn Lumber to generate Power. It is a multi-mass hatch ranch that eventually held about 250 hatches before I quit playing the base. Lumber is an Industrial Ingredient item harvested from Arbor Trees or by crushing the Molts of Oakshells. I made this recently as a prototype to explain to someone what I mean: When they are outside the ranch they don't get the debuffs if they are groomed and fed. The easiest way around altogether is to make ranges outside your ranch where the critters can get to. And once they are fed an not debuffed they start multiplying again. When they reach their limit or don't get fed their numbers stagnate or drop. It's really just a natural balancing of numbers. I wouldn't stress any of this too much though. But for tamed critters other than Pacu, they stop laying if they are debuffed. Then again, they do die out occasionally, so maybe not. Not sure about wild critters otherwise, but I think they might be more or less the same. ![]() Pacu at least replace 1 to 1 if not fed, but stop laying if overcrowded afaik.
